Full Job Description

[1] Northfield Veterinary Center in scenic Northfield, New Jersey, has openings for veterinary student externs at our unique veterinary practice that offers a vast array of educational opportunities. We are a full-service general practice that provides extended emergency and urgent care hours, overnight hospitalization, and specialty referral services in a fear-free certified facility.

Program Overview:
We offer two- to eight-week externships that are based on student need. First- through fourth-year veterinary students are scheduled during varied shifts based on their interests and goals and will rotate through general practice, emergency, cardiology, and surgery. Our facility also offers complete abdominal ultrasound examinations as a referral service for clients and the community, and services for avian and exotic patients.

You’ll have the opportunity to experience a general practice, emergency and overnight practice, and specialty services for dogs, cats, and exotic pets, and you’ll learn alongside our nine doctors and 40 support staff. Our team is proud to serve as the only area Fear Free Certified facility, and we are looking for like-minded student externs willing to learn and practice low-stress handling and fear-free techniques.
