Title: Retail Inventory Auditor

Reports to: Retail Inventory Audit Manager

Company: Coulson Oil, Inc.

Classification: Exempt

Coulson Oil is looking for a Retail Inventory Auditor for its Road Runner Convenience Stores. In this position you will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of a store's inventory by physically counting stock and comparing it to the recorded inventory levels in the system, identifying any discrepancies, and reporting findings to management to ensure proper inventory control and financial accuracy within the retail environment; this role often involves conducting regular audits across various store locations across Arkansas and in the Texarkana Area, analyzing inventory data, and proposing improvements to inventory management practices.

Position Description Summary:

The Retail Inventory Auditor reports to the Retail Inventory Audit Manager and is responsible for conducting regular audits of a company's store inventory to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies. This job involves analyzing data, counting physical inventory, and collaborating with the Retail Team to maintain an accurate inventory system. The Retail Inventory Auditor may also be involved in developing and implementing inventory management procedures and training employees on best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct physical inventories of merchandise across store locations, including sales floor, backroom, and stockrooms, using handheld scanners or other counting methods.
Compare physical inventory counts to the inventory management system records, identify discrepancies and analyze potential causes
Examine and analyze inventory levels to ensure they match the records in the company database.
Detect and investigate discrepancies or errors in inventory records, including reviewing receiving documents, sales records and other relevant data
Develop audit schedules for different store locations based on risk assessments and business priorities.
Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and take necessary action to address it.
Collaborate with team members to share inventory audit findings, proposed solutions and implement corrective actions.
Create reports on inventory levels and communicate findings to management.
Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing accuracy and fulfillment of inventory management standards.
Regular attendance to work
Other projects and duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven ability to identify and implement improvements to streamline processes and increase efficiency and productivity.
Excellent technology skills; proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint), and inventory management systems and data analysis tools.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong knowledge of accounting and financial processes
Ability to key information accurately and timely
Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
Accuracy and attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Excellent interpersonal skills

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelors degree preferred
Previous work experience in retail inventory auditing or similar role
Previous experience and understanding of Microsoft Excel and PDI Inventory systems
Valid drivers license
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
