Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
We are a leading ambulatory surgery center dedicated to providing high-quality surgical care in a fast-paced environment. Our center specializes in a range of Spinal outpatient procedures, offering patients convenience and personalized attention in a comfortable setting.

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic RN to join our team as an Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse and Clinic Nurse. This position will involve rotating between PreOp, Operating Room (OR), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) areas, providing comprehensive care to our patients throughout their surgical journey. This will also include following up with patients before and after procedures and during their treatment.

Responsibilities are not restricted to but include:

PreOp:
Greet patients and ensure they are comfortable and informed about the procedure.
Verify patient identity and obtain consent for the procedure.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examination.
Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, preoperative instructions, and postoperative care.
Administer medications and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Confirmation calls to patient pre-procedure.
Reviewing and communicating lab results to MDs.
Reviewing clearances and scheduling procedures.
Injection Procedure Room:
Collaborate with healthcare providers in preparing the epidural injection room and sterile equipment.
Assist the provider during the procedure by providing necessary equipment and supplies.
Monitor patients closely throughout the procedure for signs of discomfort, adverse reactions, or complications.
Respond promptly to any changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions as needed.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment in the epidural injection room.
Operating Room (OR):
Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing skilled nursing care and maintaining a sterile environment.
Ensuring patient safety and favorable outcomes by meticulously attending to detail during surgical cases. Providing assistance to the team in preparing for procedures.
Ensure proper functioning of equipment and instrumentation, anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU):
Receive patients following surgery and provide immediate postoperative care, monitoring for complications and ensuring their recovery from anesthesia.
Assess patients' pain levels and manage pain effectively using pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgeons to facilitate safe patient discharge and transfer to the recovery area.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Current Arkansas RN license, BLS and ACLS required.
Two (2) years experience as a surgical nurse in the OR, PACU or Pre Op nurse preferred.
