FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Home of The Pickering House is seeking a Billing & Coding Manager to lead , direct and manage the revenue cycle process through the coordination of Hospice and Palliative Care services medical billing, coding and cash collections for all payors.
This management position works in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Clinical teams in providing customer service to patients, families and other professionals for questions in relation to billing and coding. Must demonstrate strong communication and social interaction skills, as well as, be a compassionate individual to work with other professionals and patients and families who face a vulnerable time in their lives. The ability to analyze and implement proper action is essential. Extensive computer skills required. Must be knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience with computerized patient accounting systems.
Qualified candidate should have 5+ years of revenue cycle billing/coding experience, including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial billing; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and coding/billing certification.
- Lead and manage the agency’s revenue cycle operations, including billing, coding, accounts receivable, claims submissions, denials, appeals, payment posting, refunds, invoicing, and cash collections.
- Ensure billing and coding practices comply with department policies, payer contracts, Medicare/Medicaid requirements, state and federal regulations, and agency standards.
- Analyze revenue cycle data, identify trends or irregularities, and recommend process improvements to maximize revenue, accuracy, and cash collections.
- Supervise, train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate the Billing and Coding team while supporting strong communication, collaboration, and problem resolution across departments.
- Prepare month-end and requested reports, support internal and external audits, process Medicare-related reporting and requests, and assist with credentialing and payer contracting.
- Maintain HIPAA compliancy at all times.
Physical Setting: In-office environment. Driving may be required.
Work Location: Offices located on main campus in Lancaster, Ohio. Service area coverage throughout Fairfield, Hocking, Perry and surrounding counties.
