Position Description
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of 1st Coaching Assistant (12-month) with the appointment tentatively starting on August 3, 2026.

The Position
The ideal candidate can show demonstrated coaching and recruiting success, preferably at the collegiate level; excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills; strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes through knowledge and understanding of NCAA regulations; ability to act as a mentor, and sensitivity to equality and diversity issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must have experience in working with students from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- 3-5 years experience at the college (NCAA Division 1, 2, 3, or community college) level.
Preferred /Desired Qualifications
- An earned BA/BS degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university at time of appointment.

A United States (US) Equivalency certification is required for earned/awarded/conferred foreign terminal degrees, which is from a foreign Academic Institution for foreign studies. The US Equivalency certification is used to validate foreign studies from an academic credential evaluation agency and is evaluated on foreign studies and deemed to be equivalent to degrees from the United States. The certification must translate the information in English, and confirm that your highest terminal degree is US Equivalent to a US terminal degree (i.e., Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate’s, Doctor’s of Philosophy). Department of Athletics
The Athletic Department administers an intercollegiate athletic program sponsoring four (4) Men’s teams and six (6) Women’s teams. A member of Division II of the NCAA, CSUDH competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Other Functions of the unit include public relations, sports information, athletic training, fund-raising, scheduling of campus athletics facilities and recruitment and retention of student-athletes. The Department and University place a high priority on academic standards and the personal growth of student-athletes.

The full-time Coaching Assistant (12-Month) classification salary range is $6,288-$7,658 per month (12 monthly payments per academic year); The anticipated hiring salary is $6,288 to $6,500 per month This position will be commensurate with experience and current CSUDH faculty salaries in the academic department/discipline. Faculty salaries are subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases.

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
