Full Job Description

Sarasota manufacturing company is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Director with experience in the manufacturing arena in all phases of HR management, to lead a (2) person department to support all employee functions, including payroll administration for 100 employees. This position will become available as incumbent will be retiring.

POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Director is responsible for all activities that involve employees or employment in all phases of HR. Major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: Legal Compliance, Employee Relations, 360 Employment Process, Performance Management, Progressive Discipline, Benefits, Policy Administration, Records Management, Compensation, DrugFree Workplace, Worker’s Compensation, Employee Engagement and Payroll.

The Director supervises the HR Generalist/Payroll Administrator and works in tandem to build a strong HR department to support all activities for 100 employees for the smooth operation of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Legal Compliance: Functions as Subject Matter Expert for all employment law, regulatory compliance and laws pertaining for all employment-related Issues.

Payroll: Works with Payroll Administrator to ensure an accurate, bi-weekly payroll that is compliant with FLSA and DOL requirements.

Employment: Oversees 360 Employment cycle from recruiting and placement to conclusion of employment.

Benefits: Administers entire company benefit program from annual renewal negotiation, enrollment, compliance, employee claim resolution and invoice reconciliation.

401K: Administers the company 401k Plan ensuring compliance with enrollment and withdrawal requests.

Professional Guidance: Provides counseling to management team and supervisory personnel on all employment related matter, employee relations issues and supports team members in their professional growth.

Compensation: Administer Payroll Policy maintaining Legal Compliance for all classifications.

Performance Management: Ensures timely administration of the company's appraisal process.

Worker’s Compensation: Works closely with the Safety Director when an employee injury occurs coordinating employee recovery, light duty compliance and return to work program.

Training: Develops and tracks training programs for new hires, team mates, management and supervisory staff.

Employee Engagement: Supervises and encourage participation with employee activities for team building, employee recognition, and annual holiday celebration.

Policy Administration: Provides consistent policy HR administration with current policies, making recommendations for new or updated policies and/or procedures. Ensures compliant record keeping and timely responses to regulatory inquiries and reporting.

Administrative Support: Produces and monitors annual HR departmental budget. Provides additional administrative support such as coordinating vending machine services, commercial insurance participation and any other duties as needed to maintain the efficient operation of the company.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

BA or BS Degree from a nationally accredited college or university majoring in human resources, business, public administration, or related field preferred. A combination of education and 15+ years of experience will be considered.
Minimum of 10 years of human resource generalist management experience with a concentration on employment law knowledge and employee relations a must.
Minimum of 5 years of human resource management in a manufacturing environment a must.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PPT, Excel, automated Payroll systems
