Dental Receptionist / Financial Coordinator

Are you an experienced medical or dental front-office professional who is confident discussing treatment plans, insurance benefits, and financial options with patients?

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and motivated Financial Coordinator to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience handling finances in a medical or dental front-desk role and is comfortable having conversations about treatment costs, insurance coverage, patient balances, and payment options.

Pay & Schedule

$26+ per hour, depending on experience
Full-time
Monday–Thursday
7:40 AM – 5:00 PM
No weekends

Your Role

As our Financial Coordinator, you will play an important role in helping patients understand their treatment, insurance coverage, and financial options. You will work closely with both our patients and clinical team to make the financial side of treatment clear, comfortable, and straightforward.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing treatment plans and dental insurance benefits
Preparing accurate pre-treatment estimates
Explaining treatment fees, insurance coverage, deductibles, annual maximums, and estimated patient portions
Presenting financial arrangements and payment options
Collecting copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
Processing cash, check, credit card, and financing payments
Setting up and monitoring patient payment plans
Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
Following up on insurance claims and outstanding balances
Maintaining accurate patient financial records in our practice management software
Working closely with the clinical team to ensure treatment and financial information is accurate
Helping patients understand their recommended treatment and feel confident moving forward with care
Assisting with general front-office responsibilities as needed

Who We're Looking For

Required:

At least 1 year of experience handling finances in a medical or dental front-office role
Experience discussing treatment costs, insurance benefits, and patient financial responsibility
Comfortable collecting payments and discussing outstanding balances
Strong communication and customer service skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Professional, dependable, and responsible
Comfortable discussing money and financial arrangements with patients
Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team

Preferred:

Dental office experience
Experience with dental insurance and treatment estimates
Experience with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
Experience with CareCredit, Sunbit, or other healthcare financing options
Familiarity with deductibles, annual maximums, waiting periods, frequency limitations, and coordination of benefits
