Position Summary
The Business Solutions Analyst is responsible for supporting and improving the systems, reporting, and data tools used across the business. This role will take ownership of key reporting platforms and business processes while partnering with departments throughout the company to identify opportunities for improvement.
The position combines business process knowledge with technical skills to develop reporting solutions, improve access to data, reduce manual work, and support better decision-making. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with both business users and IT, understanding operational challenges, and helping implement solutions that make every day work easier and more effective.
While maintaining existing reporting and data systems is an important part of the role, this position will also help the company improve and modernize how information is managed, reported, and shared across the organization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Business Solutions
- Work with departments across the organization to identify opportunities to improve business processes, reporting capabilities, and system utilization.
- Analyze business challenges and recommend practical technology solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Evaluate reporting, automation, AI, and business system tools to support evolving business needs.
- Lead or support implementation, testing, and user adoption of new processes and technology solutions.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Support and maintain key business reporting and analytics platforms, including Phocas, Corvu, and other reporting tools.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot reports, dashboards, and reporting databases.
- Partner with business users to understand reporting needs and deliver effective reporting solutions.
- Support company reporting needs across sales, operations, finance, purchasing, and leadership teams.
- Evaluate and support implementation of reporting and business intelligence tools, including Power BI and similar platforms.
Data Management & Technical Solutions
- Serve as primary administrator for Phocas, CorVu, and other business reporting platforms.
- Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes.
- Administer, and maintain scheduled reporting processes, batch jobs, automated tasks, data refresh workflows, and report distribution routines.
- Monitor reporting dependencies, job sequencing, and system availability during critical business processing periods.
- Coordinate execution and validation of reporting activities across multiple platforms, databases, servers, and business units.
- Maintain reporting calendars, working days, system parameters, processing schedules, and automation routines.
- Create, maintain, and support reporting databases, data structures, system integrations, and data workflows.
- Troubleshoot data, reporting, and system-related issues while working closely with IT and business users.
- Document processes, reporting logic, and system procedures to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Education
- High school diploma, or equivalency
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred
Minimum Experience
- Supporting reporting systems, business applications, or reporting databases.
- Creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting reports.
- Working with Excel workbooks, Access databases, text files, SQL databases, Network shares and stored reporting artifacts.
- Experience working with SQL and query-based reporting tools.
- Partnering with business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Supporting end-users with reporting requests and data analysis needs.
- Experience with automation, system integration, process improvement initiatives, or emerging business technologies.
- Experience with Phocas, CorVu, Power BI, or similar reporting platforms
- Supporting financial, operational, inventory, or sales reporting.
- Administering reporting schedules or automated reporting processes.
- Experience with business process documentation and process improvement initiatives.
- Supporting scheduled business processes, recurring reporting cycles, or batch processing environments.
- Troubleshooting automated jobs, workflow failures, and reporting process exceptions.
- Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, or year-end reporting activities.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong SQL and database skills.
- Knowledge of reporting systems and business intelligence concepts.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot reporting issues.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and recurring reporting cycles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Knowledge of Phocas, CorVu, Power BI, Power Automate, or similar technology, preferred.
- Experience with scheduling and automation tools, preferred.
- Experience with data modeling and reporting databases, preferred.
- Basic scripting experience (PowerShell, VBA, Python, etc.), preferred.
- Understanding of accounting, inventory, sales, or distribution business processes, preferred.
