Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Back Line Prep Cook, where your energy and culinary skills will help set the stage for exceptional dining experiences. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting with food assembly, and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your dedication to food safety, quality, and teamwork will contribute to creating a vibrant, welcoming environment for both staff and guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while supporting the backbone of our kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Prepare fresh ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipe specifications and safety standards
Assist in assembling dishes during meal service, ensuring presentation and quality meet established guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies
Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards in food handling and preparation
Support the kitchen team with basic cooking tasks such as heating, assembling, and finishing dishes as directed
Monitor inventory levels of prep ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen supervisor or manager
Adhere to safety standards in production, including knife skills and slicing techniques, to prevent accidents and ensure efficiency

Requirements

Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
Experience working in food service, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry with a focus on food preparation or culinary tasks
Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep
Ability to follow detailed recipes, menu planning guidelines, and meal preparation procedures accurately
Excellent food handling skills combined with a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
Demonstrated teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced kitchen environment
