Full Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

· Follow house schedules that include program activities daily

· Ensure appropriate documentation is completed daily (data sheets, progress notes, behavior reports, restraint sheets)

· Participate in various community outings with the clients as needed

· Monitor and document needed supplies for basic care and submit to Counselor II weekly.

· Complete home and vehicle maintenance sheet and submit to Counselor II weekly.

· Assist in determining staff training needs and reporting to Counselor II as needed.

· Assist in the on the job training for new employees, ensuring that they receive instructions in correct procedures and techniques as needed

· Displaying professionalism when addressing the needs of clients, parents, agencies and visitors daily

· Monitor environment to ensure client privacy and safety daily

· Ensure cleaning materials are safely and properly stored and locked daily

· Complete all scheduled Drills and document completion weekly

· Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings to include CFT as needed

· Monitor and document behaviors of assigned client daily

· Ensure constant supervision of clients by keeping clients within view daily

· Able to complete coverage for absent coworkers as needed

· Store, distribute and document all medication accurately daily

· Ensuring cleanliness of home and vehicle daily

· Ensure meal plans completed weekly

· Participate in any agency committees as needed

· Participate in quarterly peer reviews

· Follow agency dress code daily

· Complete group home checklist daily

· Performs all other related duties

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Ability to report verbally and in writing

· Ability to follow oral and written instructions

· Ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients, parents, agencies and visitors

· a combination of experience, skills, and competencies that is equivalent; PLUS

· Skills and competencies of this service provider must be at a level that offers psycho-educational and relational support, behavioral modeling of interventions, and supervision. These preplanned, therapeutically structured interventions occur as required and outlined in the beneficiary’s service plan.

· Must meet requirements established by state personnel system or equivalent for job classifications. Supervision provided by a qualified professional as stated in 10A NCAC 27G.0104 rules regarding professionals and paraprofessionals.

· Sex Offender Specific Service Provision: In addition to the above, when the beneficiary requires sex offender specific treatment as outlined in their treatment plan, special training of the caregiver is required in all aspects of sex offender specific treatment. Implementation of therapeutic gains is to be the goal of the placement setting.

Supervision provided by a qualified professional with sex offender-specific treatment expertise is available per shift
