Busy and *FAST GROWING* company seeks career oriented, stable, full time AUTOMATED TIGER-STOP SAW OPERATOR - METAL to join our team. Successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, pride of work, reliable attendance and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Compensation starting $25-$30 per hour - based on experience

This position is Full Time. Our regular hours are Mon-Fri, 7:00-3:30 with occasional overtime. Job Location is 32254 near HWY Ave and Ellis Rd. Employees earn PTO from day 1, that can be used after 90 days of employment. Employees are eligible for health, dental and vision insurance after 60 days, and 401K matched contributions after 1 year.

The Automated Saw Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating computerized saw equipment to cut metal extrusions accurately, safely, and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong experience with cut optimization and yield improvement to minimize scrap, maximize material usage, and support on-time production. The ideal candidate understands extrusion profiles, cut lists, tolerances, saw parameters, and material handling best practices, and can work closely with production, scheduling, and quality teams to deliver high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

· Set up, calibrate, and operate computerized or automated saws to cut aluminum or other metal extrusions to required lengths and specifications.

· Interpret work orders, cut lists, drawings, and production schedules to determine correct material, profile, dimensions, and sequence of cuts.

· Optimize cut patterns and saw programming to maximize material yield, reduce remnant waste, and minimize scrap.

· Review extrusion lengths, defects, and usable material before cutting to improve recovery and avoid avoidable loss.

· Adjust machine settings such as feed rates, blade selection, blade speed, and stop positions to maintain cut quality and throughput.

· Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.

· Monitor saw performance and identify issues such as blade wear, misalignment, or programming errors that could affect yield, quality, or safety.

· Load and unload material safely using appropriate equipment such as carts, hoists, forklifts, or cranes, as required by the operation.

· Record production data, scrap, remnant usage, downtime, and quality results accurately in production systems or paperwork.

· Work with supervisors, planners, and downstream departments to prioritize jobs, improve cut strategies, and support production goals.

· Perform routine maintenance including blade changes, lubrication checks, cleaning, and chip or scrap removal.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and 5S standards.

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; technical training in manufacturing or machining is preferred.

· 2+ years of experience operating automated, computerized saw equipment in a manufacturing environment.

· Demonstrated experience optimizing material yield for cut extrusions, bar stock, tube, or similar metal products.

· Ability to read and interpret job travelers, cut sheets, blueprints, and production documentation.

· Strong math and measurement skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, and tolerances.

· Proficiency using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and gauges.

· Basic computer skills and comfort entering or reviewing production information in machine controls or ERP systems.

· Understanding of saw blade selection, cutting parameters, and material characteristics for aluminum or other metals.

· Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus, if required by the facility.

· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in an aluminum extrusion, metals service center, fenestration, or fabrication environment.

· Familiarity with yield optimization software, automated cut-list systems, or production planning tools.

· Experience working with custom profiles, short-length optimization, or mixed-order production.

· Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing environment and requires standing for extended periods, frequent movement of materials, and regular use of personal protective equipment. The role may involve lifting, carrying, or guiding metal extrusions and working near moving equipment, saw blades, sharp edges, noise, and metal chips. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Supports production schedules with strong uptime, dependable output, and timely communication of issues.
