Modern Dermatology is seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing practice. This full-time position supports both our Rochester and Washington office locations and plays an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the success of our clinical operations.
This position is ideal for an RN with dermatology experience who enjoys patient education, mentoring team members, improving workflows, and contributing to the overall success of the practice. In addition to providing direct patient care and assisting with medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures, this role will support retail product education and sales training, maintain OSHA compliance, assist with biopsy reconciliation, and help monitor MIPS quality measures.

Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Nursing
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and document patient histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
- Assist providers with medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, skincare, and post-treatment care.
- Complete prescription refills, prior authorizations, and clinical documentation.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR.
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and clinical workspaces.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and office policies at all times.
Product Education & Sales Training
- Train Medical Assistants and Front Desk staff on skincare products, ingredients, and treatment recommendations.
- Coach team members on effective patient education techniques that improve retail product recommendations and conversion.
- Promote confidence and consistency in retail product education across the practice.
- Collaborate with leadership on retail initiatives, product launches, and promotions.
- Support inventory awareness and identify opportunities to improve product sales.
OSHA & Clinical Compliance
- Maintain OSHA compliance across both office locations.
- Oversee autoclave maintenance, biological spore testing, and sterilization documentation.
- Conduct routine clinical safety audits and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
- Assist with maintaining OSHA documentation, policies, and clinical safety protocols.
Biopsy Reconciliation
- Assist with daily biopsy reconciliation alongside the Lead Medical Assistant and clinical team.
- Verify that pathology reports, biopsy requisition forms, and the electronic medical record remain accurate and complete.
- Reconcile discrepancies between the pathology portal, biopsy requisition sheets, and the EHR, ensuring outstanding issues are addressed promptly.
- Maintain organized biopsy documentation to support quality assurance and accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with providers and Medical Assistants to ensure biopsy workflows are completed efficiently and accurately.
MIPS Tracking & Quality Initiatives
- Assist with tracking and monitoring MIPS quality measures to support provider performance and regulatory compliance.
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness related to MIPS reporting.
- Collaborate with providers and leadership to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and quality measure performance.
- Help educate staff on documentation requirements and quality initiatives.
- Participate in quality assurance projects and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
Experience
- Minimum two years of Registered Nurse experience preferred.
- Dermatology experience strongly preferred.
- Cosmetic dermatology experience is a plus.

- Must be willing to travel between our Rochester and Washington office locations.
