Position: Machinist Trainee Manual Lathe

Pay: $40,000.00 $65,000.00 per year (depending on experience, training level, and potential)

Job Description

Bear Industrial Group is a premier industrial service company seeking a motivated Machinist Trainee to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an individual looking to build a long-term career in manual machining. Our machining work primarily supports the service and repair of hydraulic components, rework operations, and low-quantity detail machining.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn hands-on from experienced machinists in a company that is committed to employee development, stability, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

Learn to operate manual lathes under the guidance of experienced machinists
Assist with large lathe turning, thread turning, tooling setup, and basic machine maintenance
Develop skills in reading and interpreting machining prints and specifications
Learn to measure, maintain, and verify tolerances using precision measuring instruments
Support complementary machining operations such as milling, drilling, surface grinding, and basic welding (as training progresses)
Follow all safety procedures and quality standards

Qualifications

Basic machining knowledge or formal trade school coursework preferred
Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in machining and manufacturing
Willingness to learn manual lathe operation and machining fundamentals
Ability to read basic blueprints or a desire to learn
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Dependable, motivated, and professional work ethic
