Interactive Aptitude LLC is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to develop simulation capabilities for multi-domain (space/air/land/maritime) command and control, platform-level autonomy, and data management. We are looking for an engineer to collaborate with architects, developers, technical leads, customers, and end users to collect requirements, design solutions, and deliver extensible software applications. The work supports entities such as the US Air Force and the US Space Force for the advancement of multi-domain operations and space situational awareness.
Duties
The focus of this work is assessing problems and generating solutions for multi-domain command and control, platform-level autonomy, and data management. Job functions include the following:
- Research and develop software and AI concepts to optimize multi-domain command and control, platform-level autonomy, and data management. This will include: customer requirements verification, software architecture design, and software development.
- Lead execution of advanced technology R&D programs in Principal Investigator roles
- Support company marketing and business development via technical briefings, publications, conferences, and professional outreach activities
Required Skills
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and/or Java
- Experience performing rigorous analysis and algorithm development with large volumes of data, including knowledge and experience in relevant technologies
- Demonstrated ability to interact independently with customers
- Demonstrated small team leadership and interpersonal skills, with excellent presentation and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated software development skills and familiarity with modern software development practices and tools (e.g., Agile)
- Experience generating competitive proposals and follow-on programs for R&D customers, including DARPA, ONR, AFRL, ARL, NASA, or other government agencies and industry primes
- Desire and ability to grow company's technical capabilities, products, and staff
