Full Job Description

Premier Staffing Unlimited is recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer / Validation Engineer for a full-time opportunity with an established manufacturing organization.

This is a high-level engineering role focused on the testing, validation, and development of electrical systems, sub-systems, and complete vehicle platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong Electrical Engineering background with experience in the transportation, automotive, commercial vehicle, or similar manufacturing industry.

This position will work across electrical, mechanical, thermal, aerodynamic, and software validation while helping improve testing methodologies, equipment, facilities, and overall product performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute electrical and vehicle validation testing in accordance with system DVP&Rs and program deadlines.
Perform and manage development, validation, and regulatory compliance testing using internal testing capabilities and external laboratories.
Validate powertrain systems, including EV battery integration, thermal management, and power distribution.
Troubleshoot automotive high- and low-voltage electrical architectures, power distribution systems, circuits, and related components.
Instrument mock-ups, sub-systems, and complete vehicles using data acquisition equipment.
Collect mechanical, electrical, aerodynamic, fluid, and thermal test data.
Set up, calibrate, and operate data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
Analyze and post-process raw test data to identify root causes and provide actionable engineering and design recommendations.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting test procedures, results, findings, and recommendations.
Participate in simulation and correlation activities to ensure test and analysis boundary conditions are aligned.
Collaborate closely with design, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and other engineering teams.
Identify opportunities to improve validation methodologies, testing technologies, workflows, safety, quality, reliability, cost, and project timing.
Evaluate new testing equipment and technologies and assist in developing business cases for equipment and facility upgrades.
Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the validation and engineering process.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university required.
3–5+ years of engineering experience within transportation, automotive, commercial vehicle, or a related industry.
Strong knowledge of automotive high-voltage and low-voltage electrical architectures.
Experience with power distribution, circuit analysis, electrical testing, and troubleshooting.
Experience developing, supplementing, and executing DVP&Rs.
Experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, calibration, and test equipment.
Understanding of regulatory and compliance testing requirements.
Experience analyzing complex test data and translating findings into practical engineering recommendations.
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with applicable engineering software and tools, which may include:
MATLAB
AutoCAD
SolidWorks
nCode GlyphWorks
AUTOSAR
Python scripting
Microsoft Office

Candidates must meet applicable U.S. employment eligibility requirements and be able to provide required documentation at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline.
Experience with electric vehicle systems and battery integration.
Experience with CAE and simulation tools, including correlation, optimization, root-cause analysis, and countermeasure development.
Familiarity with state, federal, and Canadian vehicle regulations.
School bus or commercial vehicle engineering experience.
Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Work Environment

This position works within both office and manufacturing environments and may involve:

Exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving equipment, and production operations.
Working around vehicles, machinery, and sheet metal.
Wearing required PPE while in designated production or testing areas.
Periods of extended standing or sitting.
Occasional workweeks exceeding 40 hours depending on testing schedules and project deadlines.
Frequent collaboration and communication with engineering, manufacturing, leadership, and other stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

$45.00 (& up) per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
