Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant, where your enthusiasm and precision will drive our financial operations forward! In this vital role, you'll be the backbone of our accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency across various financial systems. Your proactive approach will support our accounting department in maintaining seamless financial workflows and delivering exceptional administrative support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in corporate and governmental accounting while contributing to a collaborative and energetic work environment.

Duties

Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Excell and Versirent
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and account reconciliation.
Assist with balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports, verifying account balances, and conducting account analysis.
Handle confidential information with discretion while managing administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and maintaining filing systems.
Utilize Excel data analysis skills to generate reports, perform spreadsheet audits, and support budgeting and financial planning activities.
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to internal inquiries related to accounts or financial data.

Skills

Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
Experience with financial software such as Quickbooks, Bill dot Com—especially Excel for data analysis.
Knowledge of GAAP standards along with governmental accounting practices is highly desirable.
Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls is a plus.
Proficiency in using various accounting systems like Quickbooks, or similar platforms for effective bookkeeping and account management.
Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
40+ WPM data entry with 95% accuracy or higher
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide exceptional customer service.
