Leidos’ Defense Sector Manufacturing Segment is seeking a High-Level Manufacturing Engineer to join our Sea-Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM-N) Team at our Platform Integration Facility located in Huntsville, AL.

Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the Lead Manufacturing Engineer on the SLCM-N Team assisting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities during the product development phase.
Define manufacturing processes needed for the build process during the DFM reviews: equipment requirements, space requirements, tooling, capex, etc.
Implementing procedures & techniques to transform raw materials into finished products efficiently and effectively.
Use of MES software (Solumina) to implement, track, monitor, and control manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance.
Generation and maintenance of Manufacturing Bill of Materials (mBOMS).
Generate routings inside Solumina to account for accurate run times.
Identify and execute on continuous improvement projects.
Identify and reduce risks in the production processes.
Plan and maintain production flow through MRP system, including change management and make/buy designation.
Responsible for executing Configuration & Data Management processes & controls for managing & tracking changes.
Defines manufacturing processes, procedures and production flow for assembly, integration & test of products.
Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple projects.
Resolve technical problems as required.
Monitor production status of jobs to ensure they meet schedule requirements & report job status to management using spreadsheets, custom reports, etc.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations Leads, and Inventory Control.
Provide technical leadership for delivering, maintaining, and improving hardware delivery that meets our customer’s demands.
Interface with design and operations team to understand roadblocks impeding production flow.
Disposition non-conformances of hardware as it is being processed.
Identify and execute on continuous improvement projects.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 12 - 15 years of applicable experience or a Master’s Degree with 10 - 13 years prior relevant experience in an engineering field
Must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience with Manufacturing, Assembly & Integration experience with Mechanical or Structural components.
Proficient in CAD software (e.g. Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
A self-starter, ability to work tasks with limited direction, as well as provide clarification and instruction to others.
Implement GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009) methods and tolerance stack-ups on parts and assemblies.
Works within integrated teams supporting drawing modification and production activities.
Experience leading issue resolution in a manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Eagerness to learn and grow within the organization.
Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work in DoD Missile or Aerospace fields.
Prior experience in tooling and production environments.
Additive Manufacturing experience.
Experience developing or refining manufacturing process plans within an MES system (Solumina preferred).
Experience managing MBOM updates and engineering revision changes.
Familiarity with ERP systems (Costpoint preferred).
Experience participating in root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Understanding of cost and schedule implications of typical engineering deliverables.
Experience working rapidly changing development programs.

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
