Who We Are

Willow Behavioral Health is a growing outpatient behavioral health program based in Madison, Wisconsin, offering Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services for individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. We are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care through compassionate support, structured treatment, and a holistic approach to long-term recovery.

Position Summary

The Group Facilitator provides in-person group facilitation and clinical support for clients enrolled in the program’s PHP and IOP levels of care. This position serves as a key therapeutic presence within the program by leading structured group sessions, promoting engagement and connection among participants, and maintaining clinical excellence in every session.

This role is open to licensed or nationally certified behavioral health professionals who are qualified to provide behavioral health services in the state of Wisconsin.

Compensation

Compensation is paid at a flat rate of $30 - $50 per session, depending on experience, qualifications, and credentials. The session rate includes group facilitation and completion of all required group notes and documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitate engaging, clinically structured group sessions for PHP and IOP clients with mental health and/or substance use disorder diagnoses.
Deliver evidence-based group content aligned with cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care principles.
Promote therapeutic engagement, healthy group dynamics, accountability, and peer support.
Accurately document group sessions, attendance, client participation, and relevant clinical observations in the Electronic Health Record within required program timelines.
Collaborate with the clinical and medical teams, including therapists, psychiatrists, medical providers, and case managers, to support coordinated and comprehensive care.
Observe and promptly report clinical, behavioral, medical, or safety concerns to the appropriate members of the treatment team.
Support the creation and maintenance of a safe, confidential, respectful, and recovery-focused treatment environment.
Maintain current knowledge of clinical best practices, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, professional ethics, and applicable state regulations.
Participate in clinical meetings, supervision, staff training, and ongoing professional development.
Follow organizational policies, clinical protocols, documentation standards, and applicable accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field, or an applicable national certification.
Active, unrestricted Wisconsin license or credential appropriate to the services provided.
Demonstrated familiarity with ASAM criteria, the DSM-5-TR, and trauma-informed care.
Strong group facilitation, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish appropriate therapeutic boundaries and maintain a professional treatment environment.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Record documentation systems, such as KIPU or a comparable platform.
Experience working in PHP, IOP, residential treatment, or another structured mental health or substance use treatment setting is strongly preferred.
