Overview

Join our vibrant pet care team as a Dog Salon Assistant Manager — Front Desk & Operations! In this energetic role, you will be the friendly face that welcomes clients, manages daily salon operations, and ensures a smooth experience for both pets and their owners. Your leadership will help create a positive, clean, and efficient environment where animals receive top-quality care and grooming services. What You'll Do

Close the salon independently, following all procedures and checklists
Own the front desk — greet clients, check pets in and out, process payments
Count and reconcile the cash drawer
Manage and maintain the appointment calendar with accuracy and efficiency
Manage and track salon inventory, flagging low stock and placing supply orders as needed
Maintain basic records and logs using spreadsheets — comfort with Excel or Google Sheets is required
Answer phones and respond to inquiries in a friendly, professional manner
Communicate with groomers about scheduling, client needs, and dog behavior
Ensure the salon is clean, organized, and ready for the next day before closing
Sanitize tubs, tables, equipment, and all common areas at end of shift
Restock supplies and flag anything that needs attention
Help create a calm, welcoming experience for every dog and their owner

Who You Are:

Self-directed — you don’t need someone looking over your shoulder
Reliable and consistent; your team knows they can count on you
Professional and warm with clients, even on a hectic day
Organized and detail-oriented; you notice what others miss
Comfortable with basic spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) and confident handling cash accurately
Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and energy levels
Experienced in customer service, office coordination, or salon/retail operations — a plus, not a requirement
A good communicator who keeps the team informed and works well with others

Schedule & Pay

Starting pay: $18–$20/hour based on experience.

This is a full-time position with a consistent weekly schedule:

Tuesday: 12:00–8:30 PM
Wednesday–Friday: 10:00–6:30 PM
