Job Summary

Morrison Dental Care is seeking a dedicated Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our clinical team.

We are looking for a kind, reliable, organized, and patient-focused Dental Hygiene Assistant to work one-on-one with a dedicated dental hygienist. This position is ideal for someone early in their dental career who values teamwork, thrives in a supportive role, and takes pride in creating a calm, efficient, and positive experience for every patient.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment with exposure to multiple areas of dentistry, including general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. For individuals who demonstrate initiative and interest, this position also provides a strong foundation for professional growth and the opportunity to expand into additional responsibilities or future roles within the practice.

The Hygiene Assistant plays an essential role in supporting clinical flow, maintaining treatment rooms, and ensuring patients feel informed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for throughout their visit.

Duties

Work one-on-one with a dental hygienist to support efficient clinical flow
Assist the hygiene team during patient examinations and preventive procedures
Prepare and turn over hygiene treatment rooms between patients
Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control and OSHA protocols
Transport, break down, and process instruments following office procedures
Capture dental radiographs (X-rays) and operate 3D scanners or other imaging equipment as needed
Review and record medical history and relevant patient information
Assist with clinical charting and documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment instructions
Support patient comfort, reassurance, and communication throughout the visit
Assist with administrative support as needed, including appointment coordination and documentation
Ensure the clinical environment meets all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards

Skills

Minimum of six months of prior dental assisting or hygiene assisting experience
Working knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and basic oral anatomy
Experience capturing dental radiographs and familiarity with 3D scanners or other dental imaging technology
Strong understanding of infection control, sterilization protocols, and OSHA standards
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations with a commitment to patient confidentiality
Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to support patient education and comfort
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining accountability for individual responsibilities
Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent, high-quality patient care

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
