Full Job Description

The Business Development Manager for the CBIA Foundation is responsible for growing

philanthropic revenue through corporate contributions, individual giving, fundraising

research projects and strategic partnerships. This client-facing position will cultivate, solicit, and steward investors, foundations, corporations, and community partners that align with the Foundation mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Establish and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate investors, foundations,

community partners, and individual contributors.

● Strategically prospect via telephone, video-calls, networking at in person events,

email, and social media.

● Build relationships with businesses including understanding their short and long-

term goals, identifying key decision-makers, understanding the organizational

structure, and uncovering opportunities.

● Qualify, structure, negotiate, and close sales opportunities.

● Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure financial commitments supporting CBIA

Foundation initiatives including funding for research projects.

● Employ various strategies and techniques to drive new customer acquisition and top

line growth.

● Work with internal teams to develop and execute new investor sales opportunities.

● Use CRM to track opportunities, log activities and maintain data integrity.

● Approach sales from a strategic, long-term perspective, building relationships with

companies.

● Represent the CBIA Foundation at events and community engagements.

● Generate leads, follow the sales cycle, and ensure smooth transition into

engagement.

● Be receptive to changing trends in the industry space and offer strategic direction to

increase market share.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

● Ability to influence and build relationships with people across all levels of an

● Able to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment,

completing tasks with tight timelines.

● Relationship building with executives, donors, and community leaders.

● Strong fundraising, consultative sales, presentation, and negotiation skills.

● Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft 365, and AI productivity tools.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

● Minimum of 5+ years of fundraising, development, or business development

experience.

● Demonstrated success securing contributions, fundraising, and partnerships.

● Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and

experience.
