Position Overview
Rapid Temps is recruiting licensed pharmacists for anticipated positions supporting the Gallup Indian Medical Center and Tohatchi Health Center within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service.
In this role, you will help maintain dependable pharmacy coverage, support safe medication distribution, and deliver patient-centered pharmaceutical care.
- Review prescriptions and medication orders for completeness, accuracy, and legal validity.
- Evaluate medication therapy for appropriate drug selection, dosage, duration, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and potential adverse effects.
- Accurately prepare, verify, and dispense medications.
- Counsel patients on medication use, precautions, adherence, storage, and possible side effects.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain complete and accurate pharmacy records.
- Support medication inventory, storage, accountability, and distribution activities.
- Follow Indian Health Service requirements, federal regulations, pharmacy standards, and facility policies.
- Provide dependable coverage at the assigned Gallup or Tohatchi facility.
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy and safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Current, active, and unrestricted pharmacist license. Final licensing eligibility will be verified against contract requirements.
- Ability to complete federal and facility credentialing, health screening, and background requirements.
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and patient-communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to reliably report to an assigned facility in Gallup or Tohatchi, New Mexico.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospital, ambulatory-care, community-health, or federal healthcare pharmacy experience.
- Experience working with Indian Health Service, Tribal health programs, or medically underserved communities.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and automated pharmacy systems.
- Current Basic Life Support certification, if required by the final contract.
