Summary of Position:
We are looking for a CAFÉ WORKER / LINE SERVER committed to providing excellence through collaborative team energy, strong work ethic, and a customer-focused mindset. This position supports cafeteria-style food service operations and is responsible for preparing, serving, and selling food and beverages while maintaining food quality, portion control, cleanliness, and sanitation standards. This role is customer-facing and plays a key role in delivering a positive dining experience for our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items to accurately answer customer questions
- Greet customers in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner
- Serve food items along the service line following proper portion control and presentation standards
- Prepare and restock food items as needed during service periods
- Safely and effectively use all required tools and equipment
- Assist with opening and closing duties of the café or service line
- Monitor food levels and communicate shortages to management or service staff
- Maintain cleanliness of serving stations, counters, and surrounding areas
- Clear dishes, utensils, and sanitize tables as needed
- Clean and sanitize café and service equipment as required
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and food service equipment
- Communicate food delays or equipment issues to management or shift lead
- Provide excellent customer service and assist with resolving customer concerns professionally
- Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times
- Accurately account for all food items served or sold from the station
- Understand and follow food allergy procedures and special dietary restrictions
- Adhere to client expectations and understand they are our top priority
- Comply with assigned work schedules, including breakfast, lunch, or peak service periods
- Maintain proper uniform standards, including clean attire and adherence to company grooming and appearance policies
- Assist with additional tasks as needed to support the team and ensure smooth service
Job Requirements / Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and understand instruction
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
- Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs (as needed
