Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for engaging seniors through meaningful recreational activities, fostering social interaction, and promoting overall well-being. As an Activities Assistant, you will coordinate and implement a variety of programs designed to enhance residents' quality of life, support their emotional health, and encourage active participation in community life.

Duties

Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including social events, arts and crafts, games, and outings.
Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive activity programs that promote cognitive stimulation.
Assist in coordinating resident events, ensuring smooth execution and positive experiences for all participants.
Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their individual needs, preferences, and care requirements.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and provide feedback to care teams regarding individual engagement levels.
Utilize Microsoft Office tools to prepare schedules, activity calendars, and reports for staff and families.
Foster a lively, inclusive environment that encourages socialization, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being among residents.

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s disease, memory care techniques, and geriatrics is essential.
Demonstrated skills in event planning, program development, and recreational therapy tailored for seniors.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents and team members.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous.
Ability to coordinate resident events efficiently while managing schedules effectively.
Compassionate approach to caregiving with a focus on resident rapport building and aging issues counseling.
