Full Job Description

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)The Opportunity

Join a collaborative, patient-focused hospital laboratory where your work directly supports accurate diagnoses and quality patient care. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a broad range of laboratory testing, specimen collection, EKGs, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

$15,000 Sign-on Bonus

Key Responsibilities

Perform accurate and timely waived, moderate, and high-complexity diagnostic testing
Collect and process specimens, including venipuncture, capillary, and radial arterial collections
Perform adult and pediatric EKGs, including rhythm strips and right-sided EKGs
Review, document, and communicate test results and specimen requirements
Perform and document quality control, proficiency testing, calibrations, and instrument maintenance
Identify and troubleshoot testing or specimen issues and take appropriate corrective action
Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, safety, and laboratory standards
Collaborate with providers, laboratory colleagues, and other hospital departments
Support training, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and overall laboratory workflow

Qualifications

Associate degree or higher as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) from an accredited institution
ASCP, HEW, HHS, ASMT, or equivalent certification; certification-eligible new graduates considered with certification required within one year
Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
Willingness to share evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage
Ability to travel to other work sites as needed with reliable transportation
BLS certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
DOT/Non-DOT urine drug screen collection certification or willingness to become trained/certified

Pay: $39.18 - $41.75 per hour
