Job Summary
New Mercy Outreach is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker/Caseworker to support children, foster families, and biological families within our community. We are a faith-based organization committed to demonstrating God’s mercy every day in every way.
The ideal candidate is passionate about advocating for children, building strong relationships with families, and helping youth thrive through support, guidance, and community resources. This position involves working closely with foster youth and families to assess needs, provide ongoing support, coordinate services, and help ensure safe and stable placements.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs and strengths of children and families.
- Provide support, advocacy, crisis intervention, and conflict management as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans based on client needs and assessments.
- Conduct monthly home visits and maintain ongoing communication with foster families and youth.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, healthcare providers, therapists, and county agencies.
- Advocate for children and families involved in child protective services and family support systems.
- Assist families in accessing community resources and supportive services.
- Monitor client progress and adjust intervention strategies as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, case notes, and agency records.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during urgent situations when necessary.
- Represent New Mercy Outreach professionally within the community and with partnering agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human services field required.
- Current Ohio LSW required.
- Experience working with children and families preferred.
- Knowledge of child welfare and foster care systems preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage documentation and maintain compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a supportive team.
- Compassionate, dependable, and mission-driven approach to serving families.
- Valid driver’s license required.
