HELPER
POSITION SUMMARY
The HVAC Installer Helper will assist in the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in multi and single-family residential homes. Installations will be up to code and Climate Care’s rigid quality standards. They report to the assigned job site on time and ready to work. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Lead Installer.

OBJECTIVES
- Install heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential customers
- Travel to job sites in service area and work with the team to ensure schedule is maintained
- Participate in company-provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies
- Knowledge of the fundamental operational functionality of residential heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment
- Solid communication and customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with team members and customers alike
- Ability to take work direction from the crew leader in a courteous manner
- Maintain a professional image, wearing only company approved and provided apparel
- Abide by General Air’s standards of performance and codes of conduct
COMPETENCIES
- Good customer service skills- must be friendly and approachable, good communicator and professional
- High attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work
- Time management skills
- Ability to problem solve to effectively troubleshoot HVAC systems for installation and repair
- Must have mechanical skills and understanding of tools needed to complete work on machines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Open to applicants that do not have a HS diploma/GED
- 1+ year residential HVAC installation experience; and /or trade school/community college degree in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, and plumbing a plus
- EPA preferred
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation, and safe driving record
- MUST be able to pass background check and drug test
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
- Will be in proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations
- Employees may be exposed to moderate levels of noise and wildlife - birds, rodents, etc. (living and/or dead)
- Wear safety attire, such as goggles or other protective clothing
- Could be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting
- Work in high or elevated places
