Full Job Description

Havana Jack's is looking for a Line Cook to join our kitchen team! The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be committed to delivering high-quality meals consistently. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to order while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and plate food according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards.
Ensure all food items are prepared and cooked in a timely manner, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure the smooth flow of orders during busy times.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout each shift, including cleaning cooking equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
Assist in maintaining kitchen inventory and rotating stock to minimize waste.
Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure proper timing and delivery of orders.
Participate in daily prep work and assist in the creation of new menu items as needed.

Skills

Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Capable of multi tasking
Communication skills
Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
Working knowledge of restaurant POS systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
