Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Emergency Room Mid-Level provider to join our fast-paced, high-energy healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive urgent and emergent care to diverse patient populations, ensuring prompt assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Your expertise will support the emergency department’s mission to provide exceptional patient care while collaborating seamlessly with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your clinical skills in a challenging environment committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Duties

Perform thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history intake to determine acuity levels and prioritize care through effective triage.
Administer medications, including injections such as botulinum toxin treatments when indicated, and manage acute pain using evidence-based protocols.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostics to inform clinical decisions.
Provide emergency interventions such as airway management, ventilator support, IV infusions, catheterizations, and basic life support procedures aligned with critical care standards.
Document all patient encounters meticulously in electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate coding using ICD-10/ICD-9 codes for billing and data collection purposes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, including post-acute care arrangements, hospice & palliative medicine considerations, and patient education.
Engage in clinical research or clinical trials related to emergency medicine or infectious disease care to advance evidence-based practices within the department.

Qualifications

Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or equivalent mid-level provider with current certification to practice in an emergency or acute care setting.
Demonstrated experience in emergency room environments or urgent care settings with proficiency in triage, acute pain management, and critical care procedures.
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with telehealth platforms is a plus.
Experience with hospital-based procedures including suturing, dermal fillers (nice-to-have), and aseptic techniques.
Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations and interpret diagnostic data accurately.
Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and drug enforcement regulations (DEA).
Excellent communication skills for patient assessment, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Prior experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable; ICU or critical care experience is preferred.
Commitment to ongoing professional development through clinical research participation or clinical trials related to emergency medicine.
