Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team and lead the preparation of exceptional meals that create memorable guest experiences. This role is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, developing and executing high-quality menus, maintaining food quality and presentation standards, and ensuring an efficient and well-organized culinary operation. The ideal candidate is creative, hands-on, and capable of leading a fast-paced kitchen environment while consistently delivering outstanding food and service.

The Chef de Cuisine will supervise and delegate responsibilities to kitchen staff, monitor food preparation and execution, and ensure all meals are prepared in a timely and consistent manner. Responsibilities also include studying and developing recipes, assisting with menu planning, maintaining inventory and food cost controls, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Candidates should possess strong culinary knowledge, leadership skills, and experience working with advanced cooking techniques, seasonal products, and innovative ingredients. Ultimately, this role plays a key part in delivering a complete dining experience that exceeds guest expectations and supports the overall success of the culinary team.

Responsibilities

Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
Cook food in a timely manner
Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
Inform wait staff about daily specials
Ensure appealing plate presentation
Supervise Cooks and assist as needed
Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
Monitor food stock and place orders
Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Skills

Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
Leadership skills
Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
Excellent time management abilities
Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
Familiarity with sanitation regulations
Culinary school diploma preferred

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
