Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Swiss machine programmer/operator role based in Huntington, IN. The individual in this position sets up, programs, and operates Swiss-type CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting tools, loading materials, adjusting machine parameters, and monitoring production runs to maintain quality and efficiency. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, performing in-process inspections with measurement tools, and making necessary offsets or program edits to achieve required tolerances. The Swiss machine programmer/operator also performs routine maintenance on equipment, troubleshoots machining issues, collaborates with engineering and quality teams, and maintains accurate production and inspection records while following all safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications:
- Strong programming foundation, including experience with Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Experience programming and operating CNC or Swiss-type machines, including setup, tool selection, and offset adjustments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality parts within tight tolerances.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or apprenticeship in machining, CNC technology, or a related field is preferred but not necessary.
- Willingness to follow safety standards, maintain a clean work area, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
