Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will manage the full cycle of accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, and reconciliation activities. Your expertise will help maintain healthy cash flow and foster positive relationships with clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a fast-paced environment committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Process customer invoices using various billing software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Manage collections accounts by following up on overdue payments and resolving billing discrepancies promptly.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledger entries with accounting systems such as Sage, or QuickBooks, maintaining precise records.
Perform data entry tasks related to payments, adjustments, and journal entries with high attention to detail.
Collaborate with clients through professional communication via phone and email to address billing inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
Prepare detailed reports using Excel data analysis techniques, including formulas and spreadsheets, to monitor outstanding balances and aging reports.
Assist with month-end closing activities by reconciling accounts receivable transactions.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, specifically in accounts receivable management or collections account management.
Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
Excellent data entry skills combined with analysis skills for Excel spreadsheets and formulas.
Knowledge of billing software, governmental accounting practices, and technical accounting concepts preferred.
Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette for client communication.
Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills complemented by a good understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, and financial concepts.
