Overview

You will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, ensuring cleanliness standards are met, and supporting the overall operation of our dietary department. Duties

Assist with menu planning and meal preparation according to dietary guidelines and recipes
Prepare food items using proper knife skills, slicing techniques, and cooking methods
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene by following sanitation protocols and cleaning procedures
Support food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety during all stages of meal production
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food service operations and meet meal deadlines
Contribute to catering events by preparing and serving food in accordance with safety standards and customer expectations

Skills

Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide with knowledge of menu planning and food preparation
Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with familiarity in the food industry
Excellent knife skills, slicing techniques, and culinary experience including cooking and recipe adherence
Knowledge of food safety management practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining safety standards in production environments
Effective communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and ensuring smooth operations
Experience in catering or serving roles is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food industry settings
