Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting/Payroll Specialist for a long term position in MARSHALLL MO on the finance team. In this vital role, you will manage comprehensive payroll processing, ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, and handle various accounting functions. Your expertise will support accurate financial reporting, benefit administration, and payroll management, contributing to the overall efficiency and integrity of our financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge payroll systems and accounting software in a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely payments and tax compliance
Manage employee data entry, benefits administration, and time & attendance tracking through HRIS platforms like Kronos or PeopleSoft
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, perform journal entries, and maintain general ledger accuracy using accounting software such as QuickBooks or Ceridian
Ensure adherence to employment laws, labor regulations, and payroll tax requirements across all transactions
Prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and financial analysis for management review
Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining strict data security protocols
Support non-profit or governmental accounting processes when applicable, including grant tracking and fund allocation

Requirements

Proven experience in payroll processing, accounting, or finance roles with familiarity in payroll systems like Workday, ADP, or Paychex
Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, payroll tax regulations, and financial concepts related to payroll management
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks, UltiPro), and HRIS platforms (Kronos, PeopleSoft)
Ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation with precision
Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for data entry and financial reporting tasks
Experience handling confidential information responsibly and understanding of payroll tax procedures
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
