Full Job Description

Position: Inpatient Pharmacist
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks with possible extension (BI02)

Start Date: August 17, 2026 Or flexible
Shift: Evening/Night
Schedule: 7-on/7-off
Shift Length: 10 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 Hours per Week
Weekend and holiday rotation required
No regular on-call requirement

Responsibilities

Review and verify physician medication orders.
Perform medication product verification and final checks.
Complete remote sterile compounding verification.
Provide clinical pharmacy services, including:
IV-to-PO conversions
Renal dose adjustments
Aminoglycoside dosing
Anticoagulation dosing
Monitor medication therapy for safety and effectiveness.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Review and process adult and standard pediatric medication orders.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and patient safety standards.
Utilize electronic medical records and automated medication dispensing systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Active Pharmacist license (or eligibility to practice in the state of assignment).
Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience.
At least 1 year of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
Current BLS Certification (AHA).
Strong clinical knowledge of acute care pharmacy practice.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

PGY1 Residency preferred.
Three or more years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
Experience with:
Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets
Sterile compounding and IV verification
Clinical dosing protocols

Work Environment

Acute Care Hospital
Inpatient Pharmacy
Level II Trauma Center
Collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team
Pharmacy technician support available 24/7
