Overview
Join our dynamic team as a GIS Cartographer and Developer, where you will harness your expertise in geographic information systems (GIS), cartography, and software development to create innovative spatial solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead mapping projects, develop custom GIS applications, and manage complex spatial data to support diverse operational needs. You will play a vital part in transforming geographic data into actionable insights through cutting-edge visualization and analysis tools, empowering decision-makers across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain GIS maps, dashboards, and data visualizations that effectively communicate spatial information.
Utilize GIS software such as ArcGIS and CAD tools like AutoCAD to produce detailed cartographic products and technical drawings.
Collect, analyze, and interpret geographic data using GPS devices, land surveying techniques, and data collection methods to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Write scripts in Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages to automate workflows, enhance data processing, and develop custom GIS tools via APIs.
Manage spatial databases and relational databases using SQL to organize large datasets efficiently while ensuring data integrity and security.
Collaborate with project teams on construction and land surveying initiatives by providing precise mapping support and technical guidance.
Lead efforts in data modeling, analysis, and visualization to support decision-making processes across projects.
Oversee data management practices using platforms like SharePoint for documentation control and versioning.
Coordinate with stakeholders on project management tasks related to GIS implementation, data collection strategies, and system integrations.

Experience

Proven experience working with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or similar software for mapping, analysis, and visualization purposes.
Strong background in land surveying techniques combined with proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD) for drafting detailed technical drawings.
Demonstrated ability to develop custom GIS applications using Python, JavaScript, or scripting languages that interface with APIs for enhanced functionality.
Skilled in database management including SQL queries and working with relational databases for large-scale spatial data storage.
Knowledge of GPS technology and data collection methods used in fieldwork for accurate geographic positioning.
Experience managing projects involving construction sites or land development from initial survey through final mapping deliverables.
Leadership qualities with the ability to guide teams on technical tasks related to GIS project execution and data analysis.
