Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our Bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality desserts and pastries. This role involves working in a fast-paced retail environment, where creativity and precision are essential. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, including pastries, desserts and breads, while ensuring adherence to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts and breads according to established recipes.
Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring presentation meets quality standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen area.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all products are handled safely and hygienically.
Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items that align with seasonal offerings.
Package finished products for display or sale, ensuring they are visually appealing.
Collaborate with other Bakery staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs to management.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and cake decorating.
Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations.
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using various kitchen equipment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills with an understanding of how presentation impacts customer satisfaction.
Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
