Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Salvagnini CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Salvagnini automated sheet metal fabrication equipment, ensuring precise production according to technical specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on quality and efficiency.

Duties

Set up, operate, and monitor Salvagnini CNC machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components in accordance with production schedules and technical drawings.
Program and adjust CNC machinery using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, ensuring optimal machine performance.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documents to accurately produce parts within specified tolerances.
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on CNC equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
Handle materials safely using forklifts or other warehouse equipment; manage materials handling and proper packaging of finished products.
Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
Maintain detailed production records, inspection reports, and documentation for quality assurance purposes.
Follow safety standards rigorously while operating industrial equipment such as stamping presses, press brakes, CNC lathes, milling machines, and welding apparatus.

Skills

Extensive experience with Salvagnini CNC machinery or similar automated sheet metal fabrication equipment.
Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or other control systems.
Strong knowledge of CAM programming, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and SolidWorks for interpreting technical drawings.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial troubleshooting, and factory automation systems.
Skilled in blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, shop math, and precision measurement techniques.
Ability to operate various shop tools including calipers, micrometers, hand tools, welding equipment, and tooling setups.
Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; understanding of packaging processes within a manufacturing setting.
Basic math skills necessary for quality control measurements and fabrication calculations.
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills related to machining operations.
Prior experience in manufacturing facilities or assembly lines is highly desirable.
