What You Will Do
This is a dual design-and-develop role with a strong digital performance and AI-forward mindset baked in. You will work across the full web and digital ads lifecycle, from initial visual design through build, QA, launch and performance reporting, with one eye always on how AI search is evolving and what it means for our clients.
Web Design and Development - Required
- Design and build WordPress websites and landing pages using Beaver Builder or similar page-builder tools, balancing strong visual design with clean, functional code
- Translate creative briefs and StoryBrand messaging frameworks into compelling, conversion-focused layouts that make clients' ideal customers feel at home
- Customize WordPress themes, configure plugins and build new pages with strong attention to UX/UI best practices and mobile-responsive design
- QA sites thoroughly, identify and fix issues or escalate to lead developers with clear, actionable documentation
- Manage ongoing site maintenance, enhancements and content updates across multiple client accounts
- Optimize images and media for fast load times and accessibility
- Create and maintain internal how-to documentation for development processes and procedures
SEO, AI Search Visibility and Performance - Required
- Stay genuinely current on AI search developments including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Bing Copilot, and understand what they mean for how B2B websites get found and cited
- Implement Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) best practices alongside traditional SEO, including structured data, schema markup, FAQ sections, conversational content formatting and entity optimization so clients show up in AI-generated answers
- Implement on-page SEO best practices including meta tags, header structure, image alt text and schema markup across all client builds
- Conduct site performance and SEO audits using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, Screaming Frog, Semrush or Ahrefs and act on what you find
- Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals metrics including LCP, CLS and TBT across client sites
- Support site speed optimization including caching, image compression and code cleanup
- Use AI tools confidently in your daily workflow, whether that is Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini for copy drafts or AI coding assistants to speed up development
- Set up Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, configure goals and track conversions accurately
What We Are Looking For - Required
- 2 to 4 years of experience designing and building websites, with a portfolio that shows both design sensibility and real technical ability
- Demonstrated proficiency building and customizing WordPress sites including themes, plugins and page builders
- Solid understanding of UX/UI best practices, mobile-responsive design and web accessibility basics
- Active, genuine interest in how AI is changing search. You follow the space, you have opinions about it and you can talk about what Google AI Overviews or ChatGPT search means for a client's visibility
- Working knowledge of AEO and structured data implementation and an understanding of why schema markup matters in an AI search world
- Comfortable in Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager with the ability to set up conversion tracking
- Ability to conduct basic site performance audits and act on findings
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills and a self-starter mindset
- Comfortable juggling multiple client accounts in a fast-paced small-agency environment
If AI trends are not already part of your daily reading, this role is not the right fit. We need someone who is ahead of the curve, not catching up to it.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HubSpot CMS or HubSpot landing page tools
- Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or Figma
- Experience with Beaver Builder, Elementor or other WordPress page builders
- Site speed optimization experience beyond the basics
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate design or development workflows
