Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This dual-role position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to provide exceptional patient care while managing front office responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong dental assisting skills, familiarity with Open Dental Software, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality and infection control. Experience in general dentistry, and proficiency with dental technology such as 3D scanners and digital X-ray systems is highly desirable.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in/check-out processes using Open Dental Software.
Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry and vital signs monitoring
Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper aseptic technique and infection control protocols
Operate medical imaging equipment and utilize 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics
Provide patient education on procedures, post-treatment care, and dental terminology
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records, including medical coding when necessary
Support the dental team with clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical history updates, and assisting with endodontics, or pediatric dentistry procedures
Ensure the clinic environment remains sterile and organized in accordance with infection control standards
Manage administrative duties including answering phones, handling insurance claims, and processing payments

Qualifications

Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential required
Prior experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus
Proficiency with Open Dental Software.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, and infection control practices
Familiarity with dental technology including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and digital imaging equipment
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry procedures
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining aseptic techniques
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail
