About the Role:

The Clinic Lab Tech at Parkwest Clinic plays a critical role in supporting clinical operations by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures that aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, which directly impact patient care decisions. The Clinic Lab Tech collaborates closely with healthcare providers to collect, process, and analyze biological specimens while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality control standards. Additionally, the role involves maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Clinic Lab Tech contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the clinical laboratory environment, enhancing patient outcomes through timely and precise laboratory services.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in phlebotomy or a related field required.
Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Proficiency in handling and processing biological specimens.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from a recognized certifying body.
Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably within a healthcare facility.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
Strong understanding of quality assurance and regulatory compliance standards such as CLIA and OSHA.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

Collect and prepare biological specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples for laboratory analysis.
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests using manual and automated techniques according to established protocols.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
Record and analyze test results, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting to healthcare providers.
Adhere to all safety, quality control, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
Assist in inventory management by ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Collaborate with clinical staff to troubleshoot issues and improve laboratory processes.
Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, test results, and equipment maintenance activities.
