Job Description
Functions include but are not limited to the following. Must be able to move freely between tasks depending on workload, season, etc.
Onboarding:
- Prepare new-hire packets, orientation materials, and onboarding schedules.

Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screenings, physical examinations, and employment eligibility documentation, as applicable.

Conduct new-hire orientation, verify that new-hire paperwork is complete, accurate, and entered into the appropriate HR systems.

Coordinate onboarding activities with supervisors, safety, information technology, and other departments.
Employee Records and HRIS Administration:

Process employee status changes, transfers, promotions, terminations, and other personnel actions using digital systems

Maintain up to date workplace notices and policies in accordance with federal, state and local ordinances
-
Support compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and record-retention requirements.

Maintain physical and digital records including I-9s, training records, employee records
General HR Support

Support Wonderful Education initiatives such as internships and job shadows,
-
Assist with open enrollment activities and employee benefits communications.

Respond to employee and supervisor questions in a timely and professional manner.

Translate or coordinate the translation of HR communications when needed.

Provide backup support to other Human Resources team members.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

One to three years of Human Resources recruiting, administrative, or related experience preferred.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-
Experience with a Human Resources information system or applicant tracking system preferred.
-
Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all organizational levels.
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
-
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet established deadlines.
-
Must meet company driving requirements and maintain eligibility to operate a company vehicle.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Experience supporting agricultural, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, or other hourly workforces.
-
Experience working with seasonal employees and high-volume onboarding.
-
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
-
Familiarity with California employment practices.
-
Human Resources certification or coursework, such as aPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.

Pay Rate: $24-$29/hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
