Full Job Description

The Rogue Valley Country Club is looking for experienced banquet and catering cooks. Banquet and catering cooks need to be able to follow instruction well, produce high-quality plates at high volumes, and often within a quick timeline.

Responsibilities:

Answer, report and follow banquet chef's instructions
Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cooking menu items in cooperation with limited help- usually the Banquet chef and/or an additional cook
Cooking high volume quantities with strict timelines (e.g. 15-300 guests, served meals and buffets)
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Attend meetings with, or take direction and updates from other managers such as the Banquet Sales Manager, Banquet Staff Manager, Clubhouse Manager, and General Manager
Interpret BEOs to ensure proper execution of events

Requirements:

Proven cooking experience, including experience in high volume production, and experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry's best practices
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
Ability to work flexible hours (depending on the events scheduled, the shifts may be early or late)

Compensation and Employment Type

pay negotiable upon experience
employment beginning at part time with possibilities of future long-term employment based on OHA guidelines and expected business levels

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)
