Full Job Description

Due to our growth and expansion, we are seeking an Accounting Manager in Western Suffolk to support our manufacturing operations and serve as a strategic right hand to our Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. As an Accounting Manager, you will be the operational anchor overseeing the daily operations of the accounting function, reviewing target company financials to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls and support leadership with timely financial insights. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with at least five years of experience who can manage accounting processes, supervise team members, and help improve financial systems and procedures that support production, operations, and leadership decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

· Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

· Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, tax requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

· Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial reporting processes.

· Lead the month-end and year-end close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.

· Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff while promoting accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.

· Coordinate with Divisional Controllers and all managers throughout various organizations and assist with Controller in cash management.

· Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, automate routine tasks, and improve reporting efficiency.

· Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership to support business decisions. Ensure accuracy of elimination of entries and intercompany accounts.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.

· Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff preferred.

· Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standard accounting practices.

· Experience with accounting software, ERP systems- Infor Cloud suite, and Microsoft Excel(VLOOKUP, Sum Ifs, Pivot Tables).

· Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements, reports, and variance analyses.

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

· Manufacturing Experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

· CPA, CMA, or progress toward professional certification.

· Experience in process improvement, workflow automation, or accounting system implementation.

· Experience working in a multi-entity, professional services, and manufacturing, or similar environment, depending on company needs.

· Familiarity with audit preparation, tax filings, and internal control documentation.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time on-site position. The Accounting Manager will work closely with senior leadership, department managers, auditors, vendors, and internal accounting staff. Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end closing, year-end close, audits, or budgeting cycles.
