Full Job Description

Position Description: Under moderate supervision, support victims of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking who are involved with Community Justice. Manage clients referred through the County high lethality (Lethality Assessment Protocol- LAP) caseload which includes local and rural law enforcement jurisdictions. Position serves clients involved with parole and probation and survivors who are incarcerated. Provide advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, resources, and navigating systems.

Location: Located primarily at Community Justice facility in Jackson County

Schedule and FTE: Monday through Friday

Set schedule each week within hours of 8 am – 5 pm

Each year we serve thousands of survivors and their children. We provide 24/7 crisis intervention, shelter and housing services, and wraparound, supportive, ongoing services for survivors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Equivalent combination of two years’ relevant experience and/or education in areas such as advocacy or human services

· Possess resiliency, critical thinking and trauma-sensitive skills to provide services effectively in stressful, crisis situations

· Ability to use computer with knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database entry

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Bilingual employees may be eligible for additional pay

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Good driving record and valid Oregon driver’s license

· Personal auto insurance with required personal liability minimum of Bodily Injury $100,000 each person, $300,000 each occurrence

· Must successfully pass a Background and Abuse Check including fingerprint background check for Community Works and any similar requirements of community partner. Background findings will not automatically disqualify a candidate; results are considered in alignment with agency requirements.

· Ability to participate in required trainings and to obtain company-paid food handler’s certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS (including but not limited to):

· Meet all objectives [and protocols?] required by the grant agreement(s) funding this position.

· Meet all requirements associated with community partner operational protocols.

· Provide trauma-sensitive advocacy services for clients referred by community partner Center and other Community Works clients.

· Must not report any information about or abuse associated with any client to anyone or any system outside of the Agency. Client-advocate communication is privileged and confidential.

· Assist victims/survivors in developing action and safety plans.

· Provide support for victims/survivors with the justice systems, health care, income, childcare, transportation, and housing.

· Establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with community partners.

· Provide information and referrals to victims/survivors.

· Operate consistently with clarity and sound judgment in crisis intervention within a dynamic, fast-paced, high-pressure, and constantly evolving environment.

· Participate in sexual assault hospital response on-call rotation (24-hour shifts).

· Must maintain privileged communication and confidentiality in compliance with agency policies, grant requirements, and state and federal regulations.

· Exercise fairness, respect, and compassion with all clients, co-workers, volunteers, and community partners.

· Maintain secure, safe, and drug-free work environment.

· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workspace and common spaces.

· Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain Shelter cleanliness and safety.

· Maintain consistent, punctual attendance.

· Enter data into Agency on-site databases for statistical and reporting needs, per Agency requirements, deadlines, and schedule.

· Participate in front desk coverage rotation (main office employees).

· Manage administrative responsibilities such as checking email, responding to phone calls, managing appointment schedules, and maintaining timely documentation.

· Be flexible and willing to meet Agency needs and perform other duties as assigned.

· Comply with company policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

· Develop an understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

· Develop an understanding of the civil and criminal justice systems for victims.

· Establish and maintain frequent, productive communication and accept and provide feedback in a constructive manner.

· Contribute to a productive team environment using good collaboration and interpersonal skills.

· Manage a dynamic workload by exercising strong organizational skills and prioritizing tasks.

· Work effectively, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with minimal supervision.

· Provide transportation for clients on an approved and restricted selective basis.

· Provide education, outreach, and training to peers and community members as requested.

· Develop proficiency through cross-training in other program areas to ensure flexible service delivery. Cover other positions as needed.

· Attend Agency and community trainings and meetings, as assigned.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
