We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead a team of engineers and oversee the successful delivery of civil and structural engineering projects. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and project oversight while ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.
This position requires extensive experience in civil and structural engineering, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project execution. You will work with minimal supervision and serve as a technical resource for complex engineering assignments.

Lead and supervise a team of civil and structural engineers, providing technical direction, coaching, and performance management.

Plan, organize, and prioritize team workloads to meet project milestones and client expectations.

Monitor project budgets, schedules, resource allocations, and quality metrics to ensure successful project execution.

Communicate project plans, progress, risks, and changes to internal stakeholders, project leadership, and clients.

Initiate and manage scope changes, ensuring schedule, cost, and deliverable impacts are properly documented and communicated.

Review, approve, and ensure the quality of all civil and structural engineering deliverables.

Establish design criteria and incorporate client requirements, project scope, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Develop conceptual designs, engineering studies, cost analyses, and technical solutions to support project objectives.

Perform and oversee engineering calculations, structural analyses, construction specifications, material procurement specifications, and construction cost estimates.

Ensure designs prioritize constructability, cost efficiency, and client expectations while maintaining engineering excellence.

Review and validate calculations and technical work performed by engineering staff to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and adherence to sound engineering practices.

Develop engineering schedules, staffing plans, professional service estimates, and labor budgets.

Validate engineering and construction estimates at project initiation and monitor changes throughout execution.

Utilize project controls and reporting tools to manage project performance, cost control, scheduling, and quality.

Track discipline budgets and forecast resource requirements to support project delivery.

Coordinate with engineering disciplines, drafting teams, procurement, and construction personnel to ensure seamless project execution.

Partner with discipline leads to resolve technical challenges and maintain alignment across project teams.

Support development of bid packages, material procurement activities, and subcontractor pricing efforts.

Prepare and review engineering calculations, sketches, specifications, reports, and construction documents.

Monitor drawing development to ensure consistency with engineering design requirements and project specifications.

Support drafting teams by providing technical guidance and ensuring complete design information is available for drawing production.

Develop material takeoffs and construction quantity estimates as required.

Mentor engineers and designers, supporting continuous learning, technical growth, and career development.

Participate in workforce planning, training initiatives, and professional development programs.

Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best-practice implementation across offices and project teams.

Serve as a technical leader within the organization and contribute to engineering communities of practice.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university required.

Structural engineering coursework required for structural-focused positions.

Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred and may be required depending on project assignments.

Progressive experience in civil and structural engineering with demonstrated success leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.

Experience managing project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and engineering deliverables.

Proven ability to oversee multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction support.

Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering design principles, standards, and applicable building codes.

Experience developing engineering specifications, procurement packages, and construction documentation.

Proficiency in material selection, structural systems design, and construction methodologies.

Ability to develop design criteria, scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and material quantity takeoffs.

Understanding of interdisciplinary design coordination and project execution processes.

Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and drive project success.

Strong project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management skills.
