Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant, where your expertise will directly contribute to accurate patient diagnostics and high-quality laboratory services. In this vital role, you will perform blood sampling, specimen collection, and processing with precision and care, ensuring the integrity of each sample. Duties

Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary techniques, adhering to strict aseptic procedures and safety protocols
Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, including labeling, centrifuging, and storage
Maintain detailed records of specimen collection, processing steps, and patient information in accordance with hospital policies
Assist laboratory staff with routine procedures, sample tracking, and inventory management of supplies
Ensure patient comfort during specimen collection by providing clear instructions and compassionate care
Follow all laboratory procedures and safety guidelines to uphold quality standards and prevent contamination

Experience

Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting or hospital environment is highly preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques such as venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen handling
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for accurate sample collection and patient care
Experience working with diverse patient populations while maintaining professionalism and empathy
Familiarity with hospital protocols related to specimen processing, lab safety standards, and documentation practices
Strong understanding of laboratory procedures including specimen processing and quality control measures
