Dietary Cook / Residential Cook

Merced Crisis Residential Unit

Starting Compensation:

17.11 - 20.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Merced, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

On Call, based on applicant's availability (days and shifts available to provide coverage)

What you bring to SBHG:

High school diploma or equivalent

Licensure & Driving Requirements:

A valid California Driver’s License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria. This role may require operating a company vehicle to transport clients.

Experience:

One (1) year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical environment (preferred).

Experience and knowledge in preparing therapeutic diets (preferred).

Six (6) months of housekeeping experience in a hospital, hotel, or similar setting.

How you will make a difference

Ability to follow menus and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.

Ability to find appropriate alternatives for clients who have reported allergies, special diets, limitations, and/or are refusing foods

Establish and maintain good time management to ensure meals are served at correct times and temperatures

Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.

Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel and clients.

Clean and disinfect kitchen and dining area according to current infection control practices

Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and cleans floor surfaces

Cleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephones, and vents.

Transports clients as needed in facility vehicle.

Division/Program Overview:

24/7 inpatient voluntary program

16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)

Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services

Pre-vocational or vocational counseling

Medication evaluation and support services
