Project Manager 2 – COPS, DJC

State of Idaho Opportunity

Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections is seeking a teamwork-oriented individual to join our team as a Project Manager 2 . This high-level professional position works within the Community Operations Support Division, supervising projects to support and develop identified priority areas, and assists in the identification of future priority areas for pilot projects or other related efforts. This position works collaboratively with external justice partners and community stakeholders to promote innovative and evidence-based solutions by planning, managing and implementing projects that produce statewide impact and continual enhancements to the Idaho juvenile justice system.

Responsibilities:

Incumbents are actively involved in the development of project goals, workplans, timelines, and implementation strategies. They are actively involved or are responsible for revisions in the project components. Projects have statewide impact.

Project Development, Implementation, and Consultation

Takes accountability for plans and the coordination of program development projects;
Develops project goals, work plans, strategies, and timelines, implementing all;
Analyzes each project's decision-making issues, including identification of key stakeholders and available resources;
Develops and encourages stakeholders and/or community support;
Identifies other agencies and organizations as project partners;
Identifies and coordinates with program committees and advisory groups to recommend project development and implementation;
Provides consultation and assistance with program planning, development and implementation techniques;
Coordinates publicity and development of graphics, brochures, pamphlets and other materials;
May train and advise staff, project advocates and/or participants;
Plans, facilitates and conducts meetings;
Speaks before groups and works with individuals to promote public awareness and advocacy;
Measures, evaluates and communicates program performance;
Consults with and provides problem solving assistance to staff on matters related to project activities;
May recruit project volunteers and provide training to others in volunteer recruitment and development;
May develop guides and handbooks.

Administrative

Takes accountability for administering project budgets and authorizes expenditures as necessary;
Prepares fiscal, narrative, and evaluative reports on project progress;
May identify and develop potential funding sources for projects;
May prepare applications or documentation to secure project funding.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

Planning and implementing projects, including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes;
Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public;
Developing and monitoring contracts

Developing, administering, and monitoring contracts,
Applying project management methodologies to ensure effective project execution, documentation, and reporting
