Location: Glendale, AZ
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift Available:

Morning Instructor: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Evening Instructor: Monday–Friday | 6:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Help Shape the Next Generation of Cardiac Sonographers

Apex Health Education is seeking two passionate and experienced Cardiac Sonography (Echocardiography) Instructors to join our growing allied health education team. As we continue expanding our accredited healthcare training programs, we are looking for professionals who are committed to clinical excellence and student success.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by preparing future cardiac sonographers for successful careers in healthcare while working in a collaborative, student-focused environment.

Position Summary

The Cardiac Sonography Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction aligned with accredited echocardiography education standards. The instructor will prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism necessary to succeed in the field and achieve national credentialing.

Schedule

Morning Position

Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Evening Position

Monday–Friday
6:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Essential Responsibilities

Deliver engaging classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory instruction.
Teach cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, hemodynamics, ultrasound physics, instrumentation, and scanning protocols.
Demonstrate proper echocardiographic scanning techniques and image optimization.
Evaluate student competency through practical skills assessments, examinations, and clinical evaluations.
Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
Provide mentorship, academic coaching, and professional development to students.
Ensure curriculum delivery aligns with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty to continuously improve curriculum and student outcomes.
Assist students in preparation for national credentialing examinations (ARDMS and/or CCI).

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Sonography, or a closely related healthcare field.
Current professional credential such as:
RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer), and/or
RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer)
Minimum 3–4 years of recent clinical experience performing adult echocardiography.
Previous teaching or clinical preceptor experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong commitment to student success and educational excellence.

Instructor Certification Requirements

Applicants must meet instructor qualification requirements consistent with an accredited Cardiac Sonography program. Preferred candidates will possess one or more of the following:

Allied Health Instructor Certification
Postsecondary teaching certification or credential
Documented instructor qualifications meeting programmatic accreditation standards (such as CAAHEP/JRC-DMS faculty requirements)
Experience teaching in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Sonography program is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
Experience with learning management systems (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc.).
Curriculum development experience.
Clinical coordination or program development experience.
Experience preparing students for ARDMS or CCI credentialing examinations.
